The Tahmoor Encounter

FILE NAME: TAHMOOR ENCOUNTER
SUBJECTS: INITIALS ONLY - B, M, J.
LOCATION: TAHMOOR
DATE: 28/07/2002
Tahmoor is situated approximately 90km southwest from Sydney, Australia. A report from Tahmoor was submitted on 2nd August 2002. Due to the nature of the report, it received immediate attention including an on-site interview. Three girls ranging between the ages of 12 – 13 were involved in one of the most peculiar encounters I have investigated.
It began on 28th July 2002 at 5.30pm when two sisters and their friend decided to revisit the high pitch roof of their weatherboard cottage, something they did the evening before. Armed with binoculars, small telescope and a pair of walkie-talkies the girls began their usual sky watch for satellites from a decent vantage point. It was dusk with a clear view towards the east. This is when the three noticed a large orange light appear (apparent size of a 5 cent coin at arms length) approximately 15 degrees above the eastern horizon. The light fluctuated in colours of orange, yellow, white and pale blue. At first they thought it was an approaching commercial aircraft. But then a second light appeared (similar magnitude to the brightest star in the night sky, Sirius) just below the first one, about 10 degrees above the horizon. This much smaller light then began to perform vigorous high speed acrobatics. Within seconds it would cover significant distances. The object would then vanish and reappear in a completely different area of the sky. It would then remain stationary for a few seconds before accelerating back to its original point. Shortly then the smaller light disappeared.
During their observation the girls noticed that the flight characteristics appeared to be in a triangular pattern - as described by one of the sisters ‘B’ ‘like darting’.
During this time the large light source was gradually cruising north. Then a third light appeared in a valley directly in front, not far from their property. The size was estimated to be that of a 50 cent coin at arm’s length. The three adolescent girls watched collectively as this third light, now identified as an unconventionally shaped circular object hovered only inches from the ground. Taking turns using the binocular the characteristics of this unusual object was presented to them in great detail. It was described as a grey saucer with interchanging colours of green, red/orange, blue/purple and white rotating around the rim. They also noted that the tree line behind this craft was slightly illuminated (refer to sketches below). They were then distracted by a transmission from their walkie-talkie saying, ‘Identify yourself’. This was followed by a series of strange voices communicating in a foreign language.
Around 6.30pm the three were called down for dinner. When I spoke to the parents ‘J’ and ‘L’, they said, ‘The girls were full of commotion and used words they don’t usually use’. At first the parents admitted not taking the situation seriously.
Approximately 7.30-9.00pm
After dinner the girls were allowed to return to their rooftop vantage point. To their surprise the third object was still hovering in the same area as before. Just then, almost instantly upon their return a yellow ‘column of light’ rose from the unknown, only a few meters above before it suddenly changed course towards the three girls.
‘It was like an orange, yellowy bright light shining on us from far away,’ one of the girls quoted. This strange ‘beam of light’ shone on them for a few seconds, as recalled by ‘B’. At this point it is not clear how their friend ‘J’ ended up on the ground. She said that she became extremely hysterical and ran inside. Frightened the two sisters immediately made their way to the ground to join ‘J’. The father of the two sisters said that he went on top of the roof to see what was really going on.
‘I honestly thought that the girls had seen a helicopter’, he said. It was unfortunate that by this time the UFO was no longer there.
‘J’ was taken home around 9.30pm. That evening all three girls complained about having abdominal pains. ‘J’ woke up the next morning with nose bleed. Other symptoms such as light headedness and nausea were noted.

The interview (Extracts from original notes)
By T. Foster:
The father, a sincere man was surprised that he and his family were taken seriously. The witnesses, three young girls, B (13), her sister M (12) and friend J (12) begin to describe their account that occurred last Sunday. B started the evening off with stating that the three of them equipped with a Binocular, small telescope and Walkie-Talkies went up to the roof of the porch first and then onto the ridge of the main roof. ‘Strange in itself’, the mother said. From the main rooftop the view is spectacular. The lights of Wilton and surrounding villages can clearly be seen.
Two strange lights were visible at first - the one on the left was smaller than the other light. The colours seemed to change to bright orange, white and blue. The smaller light also seemed to be darting about in a triangular motion, while the other one moved slowly away until partially obscured by the trees in the distance. A third light was then noticed under the obscured light. It appeared to have landed or very near the ground in a hollow or dip in the near distance. ‘J’ used the telescope and noticed the unusual saucer shape and rectangular windows. The lights changed colours to Green, Red, Yellow, Orange, Blue, White and Purple.
The girls watched these lights for somewhere between 20 and 30 minutes. Interesting to note that during this time the walkie-talkie on a CB frequency had someone, a male voice asking someone or something to identify itself.
Shortly after all three girls were then called down for dinner.
After dinner the girls went back up to the roof to discover that the light was still there. A light beam shone up from the ‘landed craft’ and seemed to bend at right angles towards the girls, like a low power torch or spotlight. They stated that the light shined on their faces for about 20 - 30 seconds. ‘J’ then found herself on the ground, approximately 8 – 10 meters drop from the rooftop. She began crying and ran into the house, followed by ‘B’ and ‘M’. She went home shortly after the incident.
During the night severe after effects were noticed such as nosebleed and abdominal pain. Eventually the pain turned into a stitch-like sensation. Other symptoms were also noted – nausea, dizzy-spells and blacking out.
Since this event all three girls have a heavier sleep pattern than normal. ‘J’ spoke hesitantly about having vivid dreams which seem very real to her. The dreams include small ‘people’ in her bedroom, approximately 5’ tall but with abnormally long, wavy arms.
Further investigation of this case is required.
